Email: USA Powerlifting: Midwest Regionals Team Scoring, Flights & Schedule

Hello Everyone,

The lifting schedule and flights have been updated to accomodate everyone’s travel plans relevant to the tentative schedule that was previously posted.

We are just under a few days out from The USA Powerlifting Midwest Regionals!!   Sorry this is coming in so late, “Murphy” has been following me around for weeks.

First off, the hotel is completely booked out.  If you are cancelling your reservation, PLEASE contact me before doing so.  I still need a couple of rooms for the event staff and by transferring this over will ensure that we keep the room with our group.  Likewise, there may be some that are adjusting travel plans.

The roster, flights and schedule has been finalized.  As usual, there have been some weight class changes, some scratches and late entries.  None of which, have that much impact but please make sure you confirm your schedule, the day you lift, what time your weigh in is and what platform and flight you are in.

Here is the FINAL roster  Please look this over and let me know if there are any corrections that need to be made.  If you have not gotten your USA Powerlifting Membership updated, please get this taken care of as soon as possible.  This will be one less thing to be concerned about going into the competition.  You can purchase your membership here and you can update your Regionals Profile here.

Coaches and Spectators: ALL Spectators and Coaches are required to pay an entry fee.  Purchase early and save!  Pre-sale is $10 per day or $15 for the weekend.  This will close before early check ins on Friday at 3:30 pm.  After that entry is $15 per day or $20 for the weekend.  Pre-Sale entry passes can be purchased here

  • ALL COACHES, SUPPORT STAFF AND REFEREES MUST BE ACTIVE MEMBERS TO ACCESS THE WARM UP AND COMPETITION AREAS. This is a USA Powerlifting rule for all Regional and National events.
  • Athletes will be granted 1 Coach and they must be declared at check ins.

Weigh Ins:  Will start on their designated times and lot numbers will be the order of weighing in, AGAIN WEIGH INS WILL HAPPEN IN ORDER BY LOT NUMBER.  If you miss your name being called you will have to wait until the next round.  So if you are concerned about your weigh in, please arrive early, especially if you do not take advantage of the early equipment check in on Friday.

Team Competition:  Team scoring will be awarded placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded.  There is $100 fee to enter the team competition.  This is $100 per team, NOT team member.  Head Coaches/Team Captains/Club Presidents go here to register your Club/TeamTHIS IS NOT A REQUIREMENT this is for entry as a Team in the Midwest Regional Championships,

This state championship will be the residence state of the club/team as established by the mailing address of the club/team president, which is to include the particular Region that club/team resides.  For the purposes of Regional and National events, only those club/team members that have declared said club/team on their member registration may be included on the team roster.
    • For the purposes of the Mid-West & Central Regional Championships, a registered USA Powerlifting team is allowed both male and female athletes with a cap of 9 “starting” and 5 “reserves” to a team, with a LIMIT TO 2 ATHLETES TO A SPECIFIC BODY WEIGHT CATEGORY & AGE DIVISION
    • Each team roster (individual’s name and bodyweight class) must be turned in to either the Meet Director or Technical Secretary by 6:00 pm, Friday August 2nd, utlizing this document for declaration into the championship.  The team roster should be accompanied by a copy of the USA Powerlifting Club Registration Form.

    • Only the point scores of the five best placed lifters of each Team will be counted for the team competition.  In the case of a tie, the team having the largest number of first places will be ranked first. In the case of a tie between two teams having the same number of first places, the one having the most second places will be classified first, and so on through the placing of the maximum of five scoring lifters. Should teams finish equally after this procedure has been applied, then the team with the greater total number of Wilks points will be declared the higher placed.
    • If a member of a team is found to have committed a violation of the IPF Anti-Doping Rules during an Event where a team ranking is based on the addition of individual results (points), the points of the Athlete committing the violation will be subtracted from the team result and may not be repeated by the resulting points of another team member.
